After a successful first program in 2019, the Heraeus Accelerator now enters a new round. In 2020 we are focusing on the medical sector and are thrilled to drive innovation in this area with exciting startups.
We created the Heraeus Accelerator to help up-and-coming entrepreneurs in material science, technology and digitalization to build their own heritage. Now it is your turn – join the Heraeus Accelerator 2020!
Are you a specialist in?medical technology??We are particularly interested in startups working with?smart materials like nickel-titanium alloys?or in disruptive?manufacturing methods or coating technologies, such as functional or anti-infection coatings.?
Your startup deals with?medical electrodes?or?printed electronics? Great, no matter if it is novel high-resolution 3D printing or a new flexible substrate technology: we want to hear from you!?
We are looking for partners in the field of?biosensors and medical wearables:?We focus on analyzing sweat and interstitial fluid as well as sensing of biomarkers with implantable sensors.?
If you are working on new sensor technologies to detect complex chemical substances, biomolecules, viruses or bacteria, we are also very interested to get to know you.
Finally, we are looking for startups that develop sensor technologies for lifestyle wearables in the fitness and everyday life area, for example to monitor sleep or nutrition. We focus on technologies which deal with the measurement of pH values, temperature or oxygen saturation.
We would also be pleased to receive your application for the Heraeus Accelerator Program 2020 if your startup is working in the field of?sensors and new sensor technologies for environmental monitoring?to measure gases and particles.
Apply to our Accelerator to get an invitation to our Pitch Day. Ten startups will get the chance to present their vision at the Heraeus headquarter in Hanau, Germany.
On the pitch day the selected startups will be invited to the fiftyONE Innovation Center in Hanau, Germany. You will get the chance to pitch your ideas to a jury and an audience from the Heraeus community. You will also have the opportunity to exchange ideas with Heraeus representatives and get individual feedback. Afterwards, the winning startups will be announced and invited to the Acceleration Phase at fiftyONE.
The Acceleration Phase lasts three months and is divided into two levels. The first level consists of the project execution starting with a joint kick-off to define a clear project goal with milestones, along with the method of cooperation. The second, simultaneous level, consists of mentoring by Heraeus and PwC experts who provide guidance for any challenges your company may face, whether they are business related or technical. Being on site is only required for a few specific events and will highly depend on the projects.
The teams, consisting of the startups and the specialist departments of Heraeus, will jointly present the results they have achieved during the three-month program. The Demo Day ends with the closing ceremony to celebrate the success of the first batch of the Heraeus Accelerator and, in particular, the startups who had the courage to join us and lead this project to success.
